P-Line, the U.S. originator of high performance copolymer fishing lines, has introduced new Topwater. Available in 10-, 15-, 17-, 20- and 25-pound tests, it’s just finding its way onto store shelves as the calendar neared July, 2020.
2019 Forrest Wood Cup champion Bryan Thrift was instrumental in the development of P-Line Topwater. It’s specially designed to bring the best out of a bass angler’s topwater offerings. The proprietary blend of nylons manufactured in Japan is soft and long-casting, offers good buoyancy, and has just the right amount of stretch for walking, twitching, popping, and also throwing big wakebaits.
This custom blend of characteristics is only possible in a copolymer line. P-Line’s Thomas Kanemoto explained, “With a copolymer, you can get what you want out of a line, it’s a meld of components.”
For instance, the amount of stretch is fine-tuned so it’s just enough to hang onto a close-by, fired-up bass, but slight enough for reliable hook penetration at the end of a long cast.
P-Line Topwater is the first designer fishing line tailored specifically for topwater fishing.
