There is still room for boat, kayak, and float tube anglers. If you will be using a boat, kayak or float tube, you may sign up during check-in/registration on Friday April 26 from 5-9pm at the Lake Hemet Launch Ramp.  There will be no shore fishing sign-ups allowed on site.

Come join Western Outdoor News and Lake Hemet April 27th and 28th, 2024 for the Big Trout Campout event!  The Big Trout Campout is a 2-day combined over-all weight event and will have 2 divisions for the entire family to enjoy!  Both adults and juniors (under the age of 14) will compete in a 2-day big stringer contest for prizes and raffles including a brand-new Marlon aluminum boat powered by a Suzuki 20 HP engine.  The Big Trout Campout will be limited to 600 entries, and all participants will receive a goodie bag with sponsor’s swag.  We will be awarding the Top 5 Adults and Top 5 Juniors with the heaviest 2-day total weight as well as the overall Big Fish, as well as Blind Bogey payouts for both days.  Join today and reserve your spot early before this event sells out!

Saturday 4/27/24 

Fishing begins at 7:00 AM

Weigh-In 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Anglers MUST be in Line by 4:00 PM

No anglers may fish after Weigh-In

Sunday 4/28/24

Fishing begins at 7:00 AM

Weigh-In 11:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Anglers MUST be in Line by 2:00 PM

Awards Show begins at 3:30 PM

Lake Hemet offers many amenities for both the daily or weekend anglers.  They have ample shoreline, and also offer private boat launching at their facilities.  All boats or watercraft will be subject to a quagga mussel inspection prior to launching and must purchase a daily personal launch pass.  Private boats, kayaks, canoes and float tubers are allowed at Lake Hemet.  Lake Hemet also offers both rental cabins and trailers, as well as camping and RV sites for those that love to make a weekend out of their fishing adventures.

The Big Trout Campout will be limited to only 350 shore fishing entries, and 250 boat/kayak/float tube anglers and it will fill up fast, so don’t delay.
