The Triton 20XP Patriot
By Derrek Stewart
Professional tournament bass angler and Southern California fishing guide Todd Kline showcases the advanced features of the latest sleek addition to the Triton Bass Boat lineup.
Operating the Triton 20XP Patriot, powered by the reliable Mercury Pro XS 250 V8 outboard, teamed with a Bob’s Machine jack plate, delivers an exciting fusion of power and agility.
The streamlined driver’s console, featuring a flush-mount Lowrance HDS Pro 12, is the key to an effective fishing experience. Integrated side-by-side console shelves easily accommodate a dual-unit upgrade. Opposite the analog switches, the TriTouch touchscreen gauge display provides critical engine and performance monitoring, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish every time you journey onto the water.
Additional cockpit features include easy-care, quick-drying comfort floor decking, and a passenger footrest that doubles as a sliding drawer, providing additional convenient storage. The Patriot is set up for easy installation if you prefer a dual console. A Hot Foot throttle control pedal is standard for anglers who want better control, especially when running rough water.
The ergonomic step leading to the front deck also serves as a spacious ice chest. This multi-compartment cooler is designed to meet your refreshment storage needs during every season.
The expansive, angler-friendly front deck has plenty of storage. These spacious compartments will easily accommodate your rods, tackle, equipment, wet-weather clothing, and boater safety gear.
New for 2025, the storage compartments feature improved Slam Latches, eliminating the need to twist the latch in the correct direction when opening and securing a locker hatch. The primary front deck storage compartments also have automatic LED lighting, perfect for low-light angling situations.
The bow of this beautiful fish-catching machine includes a Lowrance HDS Pro 9 (not shown), a Lowrance Ghost trolling motor with Lowrance Active II forward imaging, and a recessed foot pedal, impressive standard features.
Next to the trolling motor foot pedal is a unique day box compartment, perfect for quick access to tackle items needed when the bite window is wide open, and time is of the essence. This keeps you on the bow and in control.
The separate dual live wells on the back deck accommodate all angling scenarios. Whether you’re fishing a non-shared weight tournament with a co-angler, a shared weight format, or fishing solo with big fish on one side and smaller fish ready to cull on the other, the livewell system is designed for easy fish management. Additional storage compartments flank the live wells.
Named after a sea god, Triton signifies power, while Patriot embodies loyalty. Combined, these names perfectly represent a vessel designed for success on the water. The Patriot Package represents outstanding standard amenities, exceptional handling, and incredible value. Regardless of your bass fishing pursuits, the styling, features, and performance of the Triton 20XP Patriot will enhance your angling adventures.
“As a guide and tournament angler, I absolutely love the Triton 20XP Patriot. It is amazingly well rounded from being fast and extremely maneuverable, to its wide deck and fish ability. I would put this boat up against any, and you can’t beat the pricing. If you see me on the water, hit me up, I’ll happily show you my boat,” – Todd Kline.
