There are now several boats online for this fishery, the Point Loma and Mission Belle out of Point Loma Sportfishing, the San Diego of course, from Seaforth Landing in Mission Bay, the Liberty at Fisherman’s Landing. H&M has the Malihini and Grande online.
There were a few bluefin showing as well and the San Diego posted a full-day bite with 35 folks getting 130 of the forks and 3 footballs Sunday. The Point Loma posted 52 tails, 3 barracuda and a pair of bluefin for 18 anglers. A few days earlier the Mission Belle was on the board with 115 yellows for 23 folks – 5-fish limits all around. The yellows have been in the 8- to 20-pound class while the few bluefin at the islands have been 15- to 40-pound class. It’s taking 20-pound fluoro leaders and small circle hooks to get bit on the bluefin
