WINCHESTER – Lake Skinner’s Boat Launch and various facilities have been closed for over a year for renovations, but the day has finally come to open back up, and that reopening will be marked by a family-friendly fishing derby on January 31.
This bass derby is for anglers of all ages and will award $1,000 for the largest bass caught as well as cash and prizes for 2nd and 3rd-place finishers. Gates open at 5 a.m., the fishing goes from 7 to noon followed by a free hot dog lunch at the ceremony (noon to 1p.m.) with the final weigh in at 12:30.
