POWAY – Trout season takes flight at Lake Poway on December 4 following 2,500 pounds of stocking. Another 2,000 pounds is set for delivery on December 17, and 1,500 pounds on New Year’s Eve.
After the party starts with three plants in one month to finish off the calendar year, two more 1,500-pound loads will arrive in January, and three are scheduled for February including 2,000 pounds on February 4 before the annual Youth fishing Derby. Spring trout plants include two in March and April, and that’s it for the season.
Western Outdoor News readers should keep an eye on Lake Poway in the Reports by Region section and the Truck Tracker for specific dates of those trout plants at least a couple weeks ahead of time. F
