Boat shop and tackle store now under one roof
BY MIKE STEVENS
HEMET – Last Chance Performance Marine and Last Chance Bait and Tackle have been providing western boaters and anglers with top-shelf products and unmatched sales and service for years, and that not only continue in its new location but it will also be upgraded across the board. The boat business and tackle shop is now operating under the same roof, and with that comes plenty of advantages when it comes to efficiency and even comfort at the new spot which is just a stone’s throw from the previous location.
“We were both renting, and they weren’t going to renew the lease but we wanted to stay in Hemet where it all started,” said Megan Merchant of Last Chance. “The boats and tackle now cover 13,000 square feet, and that includes 2,500 for the tackle shop, 5,000 for the showroom and parts and the rest is the technician area and offices.
The new location has only had its soft opening, but it’s up and running and customers are already enjoying a climate-controlled area for checking out new boats. Customers of both Last Chance Performance Marine and the tackle shop are really digging the drive-through element new location which makes “pop in” grab-and-go visits a piece of cake, and there’s also a very secure parking situation for those needing to leave their boat on site.
There are plans for a grand opening event with boat manufacturers and tackle reps under a big tent outside, but Last Chance staffers have yet to nail down a date as they’re still dealing with all that comes with a new operation, especially one in a facility that is owned rather than rented. According to Merchant, they’re hoping to have the Grand Opening in November.
Last Chance Performance Marine is Mercury and Yamaha certified, and they specialize in Skeeter, Phoenix, Vexus, Lund, Lowe, Hurricane and Godfrey boats. Last Chance Bait and Tackle is the premier shop for gear and intel at area lakes including but not limited to Diamond Valley, Perris and Skinner, and there is also plenty of saltwater tackle on hand.
The new location is 601 S. Sanderson Ave. in Hemet. For more info, visit LastChanceTackleStore.com and LastChancePerformanceMarine.com to explore everything they have to offer.
