Advanced cast control and audible drag click feedback built for serious bass anglers

ONTARIO, Calif.— Okuma Fishing introduces the new Helios XT Baitcast Reel, a performance-driven low-profile reel designed for bass anglers who demand power, precision, and longterm reliability from their equipment. Built to handle aggressive hooksets and all-day casting, the Helios XT blends lightweight comfort with the durability and refinement serious anglers expect when fishing hard week after week.

At the core of the Helios XT is a rigid ALC aluminum frame that helps eliminate flex under load, keeping the reel smooth and consistent when fighting fish. Paired with lightweight yet durable C40x carbon side plates, the reel reduces overall weight (6.2oz) and enhances balance, resulting in a more comfortable, controlled feel that minimizes fatigue through a full day of casting.

Inside the reel, precision CNC-cut aluminum gearing and a machine-cut brass pinion gear work together to provide smooth power transfer and dependable cranking performance. The result is a reel built to maintain its performance over time, even under the stress of high-impact techniques. An internally adjustable centrifugal cast control system, designed to reflect the latest advancements in casting technology, gives anglers the ability to fine-tune braking pressure for different lure sizes and techniques. The system helps reduce backlash while improving casting consistency and accuracy, delivering greater control and confidence with every cast.

To support aggressive bass fishing applications, the reel is equipped with a multi-disc Stainless Steel and Carbonite drag system delivering up to 18 pounds of max drag pressure. The drag system provides smooth and consistent pressure, giving anglers the stopping power needed for heavy braid and closequarters fishing situations, while the 10BB + 1RB bearing system enhances overall fluidity.

The reel also features a JDM-inspired audible drag clicker that delivers real-time feedback when line is pulled from the spool, giving anglers an added level of awareness and control during the fight. The audible response helps confirm consistent drag performance without guesswork. The Helios XT also features a 90mm swept aluminum handle for improved cranking power and comfort, along with an internally adjustable centrifugal cast control system that allows anglers to fine-tune casting performance to match different lures and conditions. It comes available in multiple gear ratios, allowing anglers to dial in performance for different presentations and fishing styles.
