ANAHEIM— Western Outdoor News staffers past and present – along with much of the Southern California outdoor community – are mourning the loss of Terry and Sue Goodridge who passed away within three days of each other, August 16 and 19, in Anaheim.

WON readers remember them from their years of service in the WON subscription booths at various shows including but not limited to the Fred Hall Shows and Day at the Docks. To this day, long-time subscribers ask about them at the shows either by name or simply by, “the couple with the matching hula shirts” or “the guy with the mustache.”

Due to their long-running presence at the shows, the Goodridges were among the most recognizable WON staffers in the 73-year history of the publication.

“It’s sad to hear of their passing,” said former WON Editorial Director, Pat McDonell. “The Goodridges were the face of WON at dozens of shows for four decades, and I cannot count the number of people who stopped by the booth and asked about them, signed up and got their gifts for renewing. Tradition.”
