This is WON’s Repower Report, brought to you by Suzuki Marine. This feature showcase one of many repower projects performed by Suzuki’s professional dealers and mechanics in Southern California. Each new report will feature product specifications on different Suzuki engines for all types of fishing boats, as well as the story behind the project about the anglers and their boats. In this issue we talk to Bill Stewart of Stewart Surfboards in San Clemente.

What’s the make and model of your boat and how long have you owned it?

My boat is a 2003 C-Hawk 222 that I’ve now owned for four years. It’s a commercial grade boat with a pilot house and a flat level deck all the way up to the cuddy cabin with 6 feet, 3 inches of clearance below the hardtop.

How do you use the boat – Fishing, Diving, etc?

The boat is so versatile that we use it for everything. I fish locally and all the way out to San Clemente Island but we also have cruised the Sacramento Delta and Lake Powell.

What was your most memorable trip on the boat?

Last year my wife and spent four days and nights cruising Lake Powell. The scenery was incredible and we slept all four nights on the boat and logged a little over 250 miles!

How did you decide to repower with a new Suzuki?

I did lot of homework and Suzuki’s combination of price, low maintenance and rock solid reliability represented the best value! That and Maurer Marine’s service reputation made this an easy decision.

Any other major projects or upgrades on the horizon for your baby?

She’s all done! My new Suzuki was the last piece of the puzzle. I recently installed new Simrad electronics, a Blue Water Bait Systems tank, repainted the deck and rewired the entire boat so we’re ready to go!
