Video: Black bear spotted at popular fishing lake

Just ahead of the Lake Havasu Striper Derby this weekend (May 13-15), a rare black bear sighting has been reported from the scenic Arizona lakeside.

With only two sightings recorded locally in the last 12 years, it’s caused quite a stir amongst locals ahead of the busy spring and summer seasons. However, considering the black bear’s timid nature, there’s virtually zero threat to anyone apart from the tasty spring flora.

The bear was spotted at the Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge (see map below) by Dino Hansen, who shot the video. Thank you to Dino for permission to use this video.
